Training in I.M.T.


Training is offered by the Space for Imaginative Therapies Education (SITE, Malta). The latter is responsible for the training of psychology professionals in imaginative psychotherapeutic approaches. It is directed by Laner Cassar. S.I.T.E. offers post-graduate training in the form of CPD seminars at introductory and advanced levels to professionals so that they will to be able to integrate imaginative therapeutic methodologies in their practice, including I.M.T training. S.I.T.E. collaborates closely with international schools and associations in Europe and South America. S.I.T.E. is a member of the International Network for the Study of Waking Dream Therapy (I.N.S.W.D.T.).

  • Certificate Training Course (Level 1):

The training course is divided in three webinars on the 3 Arts in I.M.T., namely ‘The art of starting a waking dream’; ‘The art of prompting and reparative interventions’ and ‘The art of symbolic elaboration and interpretation’.  This series of webinars will give participants a good theoretical understanding of I.M.T methodology as well as experiential exercises and clinical vignettes. Participants will be asked to write a theoretical essay.

  • Diploma Training Course (Level 2):

The completion of the introductory certificate training course can lead participants to a 1 year post-graduate advanced diploma in I.M.T. The diploma is open for practising caring professionals in the field. The advanced diploma is made up of a series of monthly theoretical seminars, tutorials, supervision and written work. The post-graduate diploma will enable successful participants to become Imaginative Movement Therapy practitioners with S.I.T.E (Malta).
